GENERAL DOD RULES - MUST READ

The Boring Things We Must First Say
So let's get this out of the way so we can get on with more interesting stuff.

Dominions of Darkness, and its associated City Sims, is an inclusive game system and does not tolerate out of character (OOC) bullying or intolerance of other players regarding gender, race, or disabilities.

By filling out and submitting a Dominions of Darkness character sheet, you are agreeing that you are 18 years of age or older and are legally able to consent. Landing Zones in Dominions of Darkness Sims (such as the Welcome Center in Miami) are the only official "Safe Zones" a player can occupy. 

All other areas are considered "live Roleplay areas" and must be treated as such. When entering a Dominions of Darkness Sim and exiting the OOC (Out Of Character) landing zone to enter roleplay areas,  you are agreeing  you are at least Eighteen (18) years of age or older where required by law, and that you agree to abide by the rules contained within this document and the Terms of Service of Second Life as established by Linden Labs. The ONLY exception to this is if you have turned on your OOC tag  in the DOD HUD. When this is turned on, you will be ignored in any ongoing roleplay. This tag is intended for potential members to visit the sim before joining, or for members who are away from the keyboard (AFK), or if a member is actively building on the sim and not part of active RP.

Further, by entering a DOD sim you agree that you are not offended by violence, adult language, or sexual content, and that you will not hold the owners of the sims, nor their legal participants liable for anything you may be exposed to during your stay. You furthermore agree that the owners of DOD sims and its legal participants defer to any trespassing party all responsibility beyond this agreement, including but not limited to legal liabilities. While in DOD sims, anything you say in local chat, or in private messages (chat logs), may be recorded and passed on to members of the sim staff and/or representatives of Linden Labs for use in establishing any violation of the rules contained herein. Your entrance into any DOD Sim is a declaration that you understand and agree to these terms; if you do not understand and agree, it is forbidden to enter the sim!

Violations of Play

The following list are potentially ban-able offenses:

  • IMing other players for OOC sex
  • Harassing other players in IMs, including using threats
  • Soliciting players withing DOD to go outside the Dominions of Darkness sims for other events or roleplay
  • Using disruptive Gestures or other non-approved sounds
  • OOC prejudice behavior that targets:
    • Race
    • Gender Identification
    • Body shaming
  • Underage sex
  • Bloodlines HUDs or other game meters
  • Invading private rented homes without prior permission. For example, you have agreed with the renter that you will roleplay breaking and entering in their home, or other roleplay that has a character enter in such circumstances.

    Be sure you have read and understood the rules contained within. Ignorance of the rules will never be an acceptable excuse for any rules violation.
